COVID-19 Message to Lewisburg Borough Residents

To help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 coronovirus, the Borough of Lewisburg requests residents to exercise social distancing and recommended health hygiene and cleaning practices (described on the CDC website and other sites listed below).  Union County and Evangelical Community Hospital are working to help keep our local and regional Healthcare System and Emergency Services from being overloaded. Guidance has been provided on their websites. Please do your part to protect our community.

Surplus Property up for Bid

The Borough of Lewisburg has identified multiple items as surplus property and is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of these items.  All items are being sold “As-Is” with no expressed or implied warranties.

  • Lot 1 – 1997 F-350 4×4 DRW Truck with Boss V plow, Flink tailgate spreader SS and hydraulic dump with 47,982 miles.
  • Lot 2 – Wooden tables and chairs
  • Lot 3 – Decorative Holiday wreaths

Calling All Ward I Residents

An information-and-discussion session for residents of Lewisburg Ward I will be held at the William Cameron Engine Company Training Center on North Fifth Street, Lewisburg, on October 28 at 6 PM. Proposed topics to be addressed include the flood-plain restoration project in Hufnagle Park, shade-tree issues, mission and vision statements for the borough’s developing strategic plan, and the enforcement of the borough’s refuse ordinance. Any topics that participants want to raise will also be discussed.

All Ward I residents (Lewisburg residents living between the river and North 5th Street from Market Street to St. Anthony Street) are invited to attend, discuss, and ask questions about these and other borough matters. The meeting will be led by Susan Mahon and Michael Derman, Ward I representatives to the Lewisburg Borough Council.

Fall Tree Trimming Pick-Up Schedule

The Borough will be conducting its curbside collection of tree trimmings the week of Monday, October 14th through Friday, October 18th. This is a one-time event that follows the normal street maintenance schedule.

Tree trimmings should be bundled, be no larger than 2″ in diameter and 4′ in length. All other tree trimmings can be taken to the brush pile located behind the Wolf Field Complex (off of St. Anthony Street) during the normal hours of operation – Wednesdays from 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays 8 AM to Noon.

NOTICE TO NON-RESIDENTS: There is a fee schedule for the use of the Borough’s brush pile. Feel free to contact the Borough Office for details.

Fall Leaf Pick-Up Schedule

The Borough’s fall leaf pick-up season begins on Monday, September 16th.

Only leaves should be raked into piles along the curb on your regularly scheduled street cleaning day. Remember, leaf pick-up requires that the ‘no parking’ restrictions be honored the entire time posted on the street signs!

Monday, September 30th the Borough will tow vehicles in violation of the parking requirements.

The last day for leaf pick-up will be Friday, November 22nd.

MARKET STREET LEAF PICK-UP: If you live on Market Street, place your leaves along the curb for pick-up between the hours of 6 AM and 7 AM every Monday morning.
