2024 LEAF AND BRUSH PICK UP SCHEDULE

LEAF PICKUP

The Borough of Lewisburg will begin its fall leaf pick-up season on Monday, October 14th. Only leaves should be raked into piles along the curb on your regularly scheduled street cleaning days prior to 6:30 AM. Motorists are reminded that leaf pickup requires that the “NO PARKING” restrictions be honored the entire time posted on the street signs. Beginning Monday, October 21st the Borough will tow vehicles in violation of the parking requirements. The last day for leaf pickup will be Friday, November 22nd.

MARKET STREET LEAF PICKUP

If you live on Market Street, place your leaves along the curb for pickup between the hours of 6 AM and 7 AM every Monday morning.

TREE TRIMMING PICKUP

The Borough of Lewisburg will be conducting its curbside collection of tree trimmings during the week of Monday, October 14th through Friday, October 18th. This is a one-time event that will follow the normal street maintenance schedule. Tree trimmings should be bundled. Trimmings must be no larger than 2” in diameter and 4’ in length. All other tree trimmings can be taken to the brush pile located behind the Wolf Field Complex (off of St. Anthony Street) during normal hours of operation – Wednesdays 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays 8 AM to Noon.

Labor Day Holiday Refuse Pickup Schedule

Lewisburg Borough Labor Day (Monday, September 2, 2024) Holiday Refuse Pickup Schedule

The Lewisburg Borough Office and Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024 to observe the Labor Day Holiday.  Refuse normally collected on Monday will instead be picked up on Tuesday.  Tuesday’s normal collection will be picked up on Wednesday along with the regular Wednesday collection.

Brush Pile and Mulch Pile will be closed on September 4th

The Lewisburg Borough Brush Pile and Mulch Pile in the Wolfe Field Athletic Complex on St. Anthony Street will be closed on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 for brush grinding activities.  The Brush Pile and Mulch Pile will be open for Lewisburg Borough residents/property owners on Saturday, August 31, 2024 and Saturday, September 7, 2024.

The Lewisburg Borough Recycling Center will be open as normal.

BVRPC is seeking a Borough resident to fill an alternate position on the Civil Service Commission (CSC)

Buffalo Valley Regional Police Commission (BVRPC) is seeking a Borough of Lewisburg resident to fill an alternate position on the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The CSC serves in an advisory capacity to the BVRPC. The CSC shall conduct the examination of applicants for positions in the police force and promotions.

Membership shall consist of at least one citizen from each Municipality, who at all times must be permanent residents of the BVRPD jurisdiction. Members shall serve for six years, with staggered terms. Barring a mid-term vacancy, expirations, renewals and new terms shall be effective on the date of the Commission’s first meeting in January, according to BVRPC.

Appointment as a member of the CSC requires experience in a leadership role within a business or another board or commission with similar responsibilities. Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation. One meeting is required in January of each year. Special meetings shall be held, as necessary, according to the BVRPC.

Reminder: North Shore Railroad Maintenance Activities along Railroad Tracks

Just a reminder that from Monday, August 19, 2024 – Friday, August 23, 2024, North Shore Railroad will be replacing the railroad track crossing at St. Mary Street in Lewisburg Borough.  St. Mary Street from North Fifth Street to North Seventh Street will be closed to vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian through traffic for this week.  The businesses along St. Mary Street will still be accessible during construction from the North Seventh Street side, but all traffic will be prevented from crossing the railroad tracks on St. Mary Street.
