New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc. of Winfield, PA will begin the 2025 Lewisburg Borough Street Paving project in the next few weeks.  The tentative schedule for street paving begins the week of June 23, 2025.  However, please note that street paving is weather dependent and the schedule could change with little to no advanced notice.

Streets which will have all or portion of the roadway surface milled and paved this year in Lewisburg Borough include:

1. North Seventh Street from Buffalo Road/PA Route 192 to Derr Drive/US Route 15
2. North Eleventh Street from St. Paul Street to Buffalo Road/PA Route 192
3. North Front Street from St. John Street to Market Street/PA Route 45 including two accessible ADA ramps
4. Malcolm Street from University Avenue to Brown Street
5. Chestnut Tree Alley from St. John Street to St. Mary Street
6. Chestnut Tree Alley from St. Mary Street to St. Anthony Street
7. Hawn Alley from St. Louis Street to St. Catherine Street
8. Plum Tree Alley from St. John Street to Cherry Alley
9. Raspberry Alley from St. John Street to Cherry Alley
10. Raspberry Alley from St. Mary Street to St. John Street
11. Strawberry Alley from St. Catherine Street to the Bucknell University Parking Lot including one accessible ADA ramp
12. White Pine Alley from South Seventh Street to Hawn Alley
13. The southern portion of Pine Street near the intersection with St. Catherine Street

In addition, two streets will receive a leveling coat in preparation for tar/chip/fog sealing later in the summer:

1. Anthony Street from the Borough boundary with Kelly Township at Buffalo Creek to the 5-points intersection at North Fourth Street
2. North Fourth Street from Cherry Alley to St. Anthony Street at the five points intersection

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc. will be posting the project areas as ‘No Parking” in advance of the construction activities.  Please obey all posted signage including the weekly no street parking restrictions associated with street cleaning days.  Vehicles in violation of the “No Parking” restrictions will be towed at the owner’s expense.

As always, please obey all road closed signage and construction flagging.  Please keep construction workers safe on Lewisburg Borough streets.  Lewisburg Borough understands that street construction projects can be a temporary inconvenience to residents and travelers.  However, street repairs and street maintenance are important to all residents of and visitors to Lewisburg Borough.

 

 

 

Lewisburg Borough Refuse Collection between the hours of 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

Lewisburg Borough would like to remind all residents, property owners, and businesses that collection of your refuse could occur anytime between 6:30 am – 3:00 pm on your scheduled refuse pick-up day.  Although you may have become accustomed to our Refuse Crew collecting your refuse at a certain time of day, please note that schedules change (as happened today due to equipment failure).  Today, we had multiple people running behind the refuse truck with their household garbage because it was not out at the curb for collection when our crew passed their property.  Such a practice is dangerous for the resident who is running down the street with garbage bags in their hands and slows down our crew when they have to make additional unplanned stops.

Please make sure you have your bagged refuse in your water-tight container at the curbside/roadside by 6:30 am on your scheduled day of collection.  Please also note that Lewisburg Borough will be altering some of its daily trash collection routes for better staff efficiency and to help with equipment wear and tear.  The day of your refuse collection will not change, but the time of day your refuse is collected may vary.  It is very important that your refuse containers are curbside/roadside by 6:30 am on the scheduled day of collection as the Refuse Crew will not be able to return later in the day to collect refuse that was placed out after they already passed.
