Lewisburg Borough Resident Sought to Fill Open Position on the LAJSA Board of Directors

Lewisburg Borough seeks a resident to fill an open position on the Lewisburg Area Joint Sewer Authority Board of Directors.  This is an unpaid volunteer position.  Potential appointees should have a background or an interest in municipal sewer operations and a desire to serve their community.

The LAJSA serves all of Lewisburg Borough, the eastern part of Buffalo Township, and the northeastern portion of East Buffalo Township with a total of 3,626 customers.  LAJSA has approximately 88 miles of main sewer lines, some of which were installed in the 1940’s.  The treatment facility located in East Buffalo Township is rated for 2.4 MGD but typically operates around .800 MGD.  LAJSA currently has nine employees and operates on a $2,600,000 annual budget.

Board members are responsible for overseeing the Authority’s financials as well as personnel and process, at the recommendation of management.  Board meetings are held at 8:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.

Lewisburg Borough residents interested in serving on the LAJSA Board should submit a Letter of Interest and resume (if appropriate) to the Lewisburg Borough Secretary at 55 South Fifth Street, Lewisburg PA 17837 or office@lewisburgborough.org.  All Letters of Interest/resumes received will be forwarded to the LAJSA for review and recommendation.  Lewisburg Borough Council will make the LAJSA Board appointment at a future date.
