Lewisburg Borough is Seeking a Borough Representative for the Police Civil Service Commission
The Borough is seeking a resident to serve as its representative on the Police Civil Service Commission, the independent body that oversees the hiring and promotion processes for Buffalo Valley Regional Police officers.
Both the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Commission and the Civil Service Commission are structured to include an equal number of representatives from each participating municipality, ensuring balanced oversight and shared responsibility in shaping the future of regional law enforcement. This opening is specifically for a Lewisburg Borough representative.
The Civil Service Commission plays a vital role in ensuring that police hiring and promotional processes are conducted through fair, objective, and legally compliant procedures. Commissioners help review testing standards, certify eligibility lists, and support the integrity and professionalism of the department.
Service on the Commission is an opportunity to:
• Participate directly in law enforcement oversight
• Support fair and merit-based hiring processes
• Strengthen transparency and public confidence in public safety
Residents who are thoughtful, impartial, and interested in public safety and civic service are encouraged to apply.
To apply, please email a resume and letter of interest to Lisa Wolfe at LWolfe@bvrpd.org. Questions can be directed to the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department.
