The Lewisburg Borough Office and Public Works Department will be closed on Friday, April 15, 2022, to observe the Good Friday Holiday. Refuse normally picked up on Friday will be picked up Thursday, April 14, 2022.

The Council Committee Community Development – Planning – Public Works Committee meetings will be held at 10 am.
March 18, 2022 – The new playground at the Wolfe Field Athletic Complex along St. Anthony Street in Lewisburg Borough is almost complete. The playground equipment relocated from Kidsburg in Hufnagle Park has been installed and safety surface has been placed around the new equipment and the existing swing sets. The Borough’s Public Works Crew will be undertaking final grading around the new playground and will be placing grass seed along the edges of site next week (weather permitting). Once the new grass grows in well, the Borough will open the playground. Assuming the weather cooperates this spring, we hope to have the playground open by the end of April.

The regular Council Meeting scheduled for March 15, 2022, at 6:30 pm has been CANCELLED. The regular Council Meeting will be held on March 29, 2022, at 6:30 pm in the Borough Council Chambers.
The Public Work Session scheduled for March 8, 2022, has been canceled.

The Borough of Lewisburg is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works employee to work primarily as our Mechanic/Operator. The employee will typically work 40 hours or more per week. The successful applicant must either have or must obtain within the 90-day probationary period a Class B Pennsylvania Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with Air Brakes Endorsement. A minimum of five years’ experience working as a mechanic and operating construction-related equipment is required. Previous experience working in the public sector or municipal government is a plus. Position requires the ability to follow written procedures/oral instructions, perform a variety of manual tasks including mechanical repairs, operating heavy equipment routinely used by municipalities, and perform heavy, repetitive, manual labor for prolonged periods, often under adverse weather conditions with random drug-testing a requirement of a CDL license. This is a full-time position with a pension and benefits as defined by a union contract. Wages during the ninety-day probationary period are $17.95/hour per the union contract. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, full-time wages for this position are $28.48/hour per the union contract.
