Green Materials/Composting Collection Site for Lewisburg Borough Residents

Lewisburg Borough has established a Green Materials/Composting Collection Site for Lewisburg Borough residents in the Recycling Center at the Wolfe Field Athletic Complex along St. Anthony Street.

The Green Materials/Composting Collection Site WILL accept the following items from Lewisburg Borough residents:

Weeds
Grass Clippings
Ornamental Grasses
Other Green Materials

The Green Materials/Composting Collection Site WILL NOT accept the following items:
Food Items (which could attract animals)
Woody Brush (which Borough Residents should deposit in the Brush Pile)
Leaves (which Borough Residents should deposit in the Leaf Pile)
Any Plants with Root Balls Attached

Lewisburg Borough will not pick-up these composting items during our fall/spring brush collection, during our fall leaf collection, as part of your regular refuse collection, or by “special refuse pick-up”.  Lewisburg Borough residents will need to bring the acceptable items to the Green Materials/Composting Collection Site during normal Recycling Center operation hours.  The Recycling Center at the Wolfe Field Athletic Complex is normally open on Wednesdays from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am – noon.  Inclement Weather or Special Events could alter the normal hours of operation.  Please note that Lewisburg Borough will not be generating compost on-site.  The Green Materials will be transported off-site to a separate facility for processing.

Our Green Materials/Composting Collection Site is only available to Lewisburg Borough Residents.  Residents of the surrounding Townships or other Boroughs should contact their home municipality for composting options.  Questions regarding the Lewisburg Borough Green Materials/Composting Collection Site should be emailed to office@lewisburgborough.org or feel free to call us at 570-523-3614.
