Due to the recent weather conditions and the flooding in the area of Wolfe Field, the Borough has decided to close the brush pile. However, it has been determined that the Recycling Center will remain open. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Borough Office.
Lewisburg Borough has cancelled their August Community Development/Planning Committee meeting. The Committee had anticipated discussing a new version of the draft Non-Discrimination Ordinance this month. However, the size of the anticipated crowd at the Committee meeting required the Borough to find an alternate location for this meeting. That alternate location also appeared too small to accommodate the crowd expected to attend. As such, a new location for the meeting was secured, but the new facility was not available for the normal Community Development/Planning Committee meeting date and time. An alternate day and time was selected for the Committee meeting, but unfortunately the selected evening conflicted with a previously scheduled event at a nearby organization. That organization’s leadership was concerned that attendees at the Committee meeting would fill all available parking spaces in the area preventing their members from attending their organization’s event. In addition, some members of the organization also wanted to attend the Committee meeting to participate in the Non-Discrimination Ordinance discussion. Accordingly, the Committee meeting has been cancelled and the Borough will likely schedule a special Community Development/Planning Committee meeting later in August or in September to discuss the draft Non-Discrimination Ordinance. Once a date, time, and location is finalized, it will be announced on the Borough’s Facebook page and the Borough’s website.

The Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) established and fostered a program that encourages Boroughs to have a high school or college student, that is a Borough resident, participate in the workings of local government.
Mayor Judith T. Wagner was instrumental collecting and organizing the necessary information in order for the Borough to become a participant of this program. At the Borough’s reorganization meeting held January 2nd, the Borough adopted a resolution authorizing participation in PSAB’s Junior Councilperson Program, and Ezra Buonopane, a Lewisburg High School student, was administered the Junior Councilperson Pledge and appointed by Council to serve as the Borough’s first Junior Councilperson.
Please see the photograph from that evening.
On January 2, 2018 a reorganization meeting of Council was held.
