Lewisburg Borough will hold a special meeting in Council Chambers, 55 South Fifth Street, Lewisburg, on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 6:30 PM to discuss proposed floodplain mapping changes located generally in the area between US Route 15 and North 15th Street. Engineers from Mid-Penn Engineering will be present to answer questions from property owners. Anyone requiring special assistance may call the Borough Office at 570-523-3614 to make necessary arrangements.
The Lewisburg Borough Office Parking Lot will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, for construction related activities. Residents and visitors needing to conduct business at the Borough Office on Wednesday should plan to park in the Hufnagle Parking Lot.
Borough residents are encouraged to participate in the annual spring (brush, tree trimmings and leaves) pick-up scheduled for the week of April 1st through the 5th.
The Borough Public Works Department will be following the daily street maintenance schedule in its efforts to collect brush, tree trimmings and leaves. These materials will only be collected on the day the street is posted for no parking from 7 AM to Noon, and any subsequent debris left unattended will be considered litter.
Tree limbs and tree debris should be no larger than 4” in diameter and cut to manageable lengths. It should be placed between the curb and the sidewalk where appropriate. Leaves should be managed in the same manner as fall collection (placed in the gutter along the street) and not co-mingled with limbs and brush.
The Borough hopes this annual spring pick-up will help alleviate the hassle of collecting the material individually and having to schedule with the municipal brush pile times of operation. (Brush pile times of operation: Wednesdays 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays 8 AM to Noon.)
Additional questions can be directed to the Borough Office at (570) 523-3614 or feel free to stop in at the Borough Office located at 55 South Fifth Street, Lewisburg.
The 2018 Early Intervention Plan Study Results from February 19th, 2019 Council Meeting is available for the public.
The Borough crew collects Christmas trees, as their schedule permits, during the entire month of January. Trees should be placed at the curb (or along an alley depending upon your property location). This collection may not occur every day depending upon their work activities, but rest assured they will get them.
