The Lewisburg Borough Office and Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022, to observe the Fourth of July Holiday.  Refuse normally picked up on Monday, will be picked up on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, and refuse normally picked up on Tuesday, will be picked up on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, along with refuse normally picked up on Wednesday.

FULL-TIME PARKING METER ATTENDANT/CLERK

The Borough of Lewisburg is accepting applications for a full-time Parking Meter Attendant/Clerk.  This employee serves as the Borough’s Parking Enforcement Officer and is responsible for all aspects of parking enforcement in our metered spaces and municipal parking lots.  The employee will typically work 40 hours per week on a Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday schedule as determined by the Borough Manager.  The anticipated employee starting date for this position is Monday, July 18, 2022.  Applications can be obtained from the Borough Office, 55 South Fifth Street, Lewisburg, PA  17837.  Previous parking meter enforcement or law enforcement experience is preferred, but not required.  Experience working in the public sector or municipal government is a plus.  Position requires the ability to follow written/oral instructions, perform a variety of manual tasks associated with parking enforcement and coin collection, walking up to eight (8) miles per day on enforcement rounds often under adverse weather conditions, pushing a 150 – 200 pound coin collection cart over sidewalks and roadways, and representing the Borough in court appearances associated with parking meter violations.  A valid driver’s license is required.  This is a full-time position with benefits as defined by a union contract.  Wages during the 90-day probationary period are $17.95/hour per the union contract.  Upon successful completion of the probationary period, wages will be $23.05/hour in 2022.  Applications will be accepted until the close of business on Friday, June 17, 2022.  Applications can be sent via mail, dropped off at the address noted above, or sent by email to: office@lewisburgborough.org.

The Lewisburg Borough Office and Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022, to observe Memorial Day.  Refuse normally picked up on Monday will be picked up Tuesday, May 31, 2022, and refuse normally picked up on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, will be picked up on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, along with refuse normally picked up on Wednesday.

Good Friday Refuse Pickup Schedule

The Lewisburg Borough Office and Public Works Department will be closed on Friday, April 15, 2022, to observe the Good Friday Holiday.  Refuse normally picked up on Friday will be picked up Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Wolfe Field Athletic Complex Playground

March 18, 2022 – The new playground at the Wolfe Field Athletic Complex along St. Anthony Street in Lewisburg Borough is almost complete.  The playground equipment relocated from Kidsburg in Hufnagle Park has been installed and safety surface has been placed around the new equipment and the existing swing sets.  The Borough’s Public Works Crew will be undertaking final grading around the new playground and will be placing grass seed along the edges of site next week (weather permitting).  Once the new grass grows in well, the Borough will open the playground.  Assuming the weather cooperates this spring, we hope to have the playground open by the end of April.
